Company Overview
Ideal honeybees located in west central Wisconsin out side Sparta Wisconsin. Sparta is at one end of the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail. Opened in 1967, this is considered to be the first rail trail conversion. It is a 32-mile (51 km) bike trail that was redeveloped from an abandoned railway and passes through rural scenery and three tunnels. It is part of the larger Wisconsin bike trail system operated by the state of Wisconsin.[9] Based on this, Sparta dubs itself the "Bicycling Capital of America"; the entrance to the town is marked by an oversized sculpture of a bicyclist on an old-fashioned penny farthing high-wheel bicycle. The statue, named Ben Bikin', has been given the title of "World's Largest Bicyclist. Our Mission
Our Mission
Our goal is to provide our customers with unique natural beekeeping products. We endeavor to foster and educate public awareness of the Honey Bees in modern agriculture through interactive educational and Hands-on training if required. We consider beekeeping and the subsequent honey production and pollination sectors to be renewable and sustainable.
Our Vision
To breed and raise strong healthy bees that can overcome the challengers they face today in the environment, pests and diseases, to keep bees alive in the extreme cold of Wisconsin’s winter. Our Goal is to breed hygienic hardy bees, that winter well though the long cold winters.
About Bees
Queen Bee
A queen bee is typically an adult, mated female that lives in a colony or hive of honey bees. With fully developed reproductive organs, the queen is usually the mother of most, if not all, of the bees in the beehive. Queens are developed from larvae selected by worker bees and specially fed in order to become sexually mature. There is normally only one adult, mated queen in a hive, in which case the bees will usually follow and fiercely protect her.
Drone Bee
A drone is a male honey bee. Unlike the female worker bee, drones do not have stingers. They gather neither nectar nor pollen and are unable to feed without assistance from worker bees. A drone's only role is to mate with an unfertilized queen.
Worker Bee
A worker bee is any female (eusocial) bee that lacks the full reproductive capacity of the colony's queen bee; under most circumstances, this is correlated to an increase in certain non-reproductive activities relative to a queen.
